During the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s the All-Union Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (VINITI) and the German Zentrale informationsverarbeitung Chemie, Berlin (ZIC) built a structural database of 4,5 million inorganic and organometallic compounds and facts and 3,5 million reactions covering the worldwide literature from the period 1974-1998

At present, the search modes are:

• molecular structure, exact match
• molecular structure of product and reactant, exact match and
• search reactions classes (InfoChem Reaction Classification Program)
• molecular substructure
• structurally similar molecules
• search for facts and keywords
• search for references

You can draw your structure and reaction query with ChemDraw, ISISDraw or the Java Applet.
