(see also the Mellon CyberChemistry Lab for information on software available for use in the Chemistry Library.)
The Purdue Libraries provide a campus-wide license for ChemBioDraw Ultra v12. This means anyone at Purdue, whether faculty, staff, or student, can legally download their own personal copy of ChemBioDraw and install it on their machine, at work and at home. Here are the steps for downloading and installing the software (ChemBioDraw Ultra v 12.):
Frequently asked questions about installation and activation of ChemBioDraw can be found at:

Purdue does not have a site license to EndNote for personal use. However, you may access EndNote from the CyberChemistry Lab and save your files to your Purdue Networked Home Directory or to a USB drive.
You may also purchase a personal copy of the latest version of EndNote from the BoilerCopyMaker, Purdue Memorial Union, Room 157, or pre-order it online. The current price is $67.98 for students and $111.38 for faculty and staff.
The Libraries offer basic and advanced training sessions and general support for EndNote. Go to the registration page to see the latest schedule and to sign up for a class. Alternatively, you may contact Jeremy Garritano to ask a question or set-up an appointment regarding EndNote.
MestRe Nova is a software package used for NMR data processing, simulation and analysis. It features 1D and 2D processing and analysis capabilities.
The Purdue Libraries have licensed five (5) simultaneous users for MestRe Nova for Purdue faculty, staff, and students to share, though anyone is free to download and install the software. Also, please note we do not subscribe to the NMRPredict plugin that is an added feature of MestRe Nova.
Instructions for downloading and installing MestRe Nova (MNova):
1. Go to the following web site and download the version you require: http://www.mestrelab.com/Products/Mnova/Product-download.html
2. Install the program.
3. Request a license file from the Chemistry Librarian, Jeremy Garritano. Please state your status (undegrad, grad, faculty, or staff), department, and a brief reason for wanting to use MestRe Nova.
4. Follow the instructions given in this PDF to activate the program using the license (.lic) file you receive.
Remember we only have five (5) concurrent users, so you may receive messages saying too many users are connected.
Support for MestRe Nova:
The Purdue Chemistry Department has obtained a site license for use of the molecular graphics program PyMOL.
You may download the software from the following page: http://delsci.info/dsc
Note: you must access this page from a computer on the Purdue network.
Extensive documentation and support can be found on the PyMOL page:
