Proper Citation Format

Purdue's Online Writing Lab (OWL) has a citation style quick reference guide: OWL Guide . 

For Internet Resources, a quick synopsis of the citation format is:

   Author1LastName, Author1First Name, Author2First Name Author2LastName, and Author3First Name Author3LastNameTitle of WebPageSponsoring Organization (optional).  <URL> Date Viewed

   For example:  Smith, Jane, Fred Smith, and Jorge Jones.  Life on the Internet.  <http://www.smithandjones.com/life>  7 Sept. 2001.

For Journal Articles, the citation format looks like:

      Author1LastName, Author1First Name, Author2First Name Author2LastName, and Author3First Name Author3LastName.  "Title of Article."  Title of Journal. vol.number (year): page_first-page_last. 

     For example:  Smith, Jane, Fred Smith, and Jorge Jones.  "Life on the Prairie."  Journal of Agricultural Life.  23.4 (1992): 23-34.
