| FASB Financial Accounting Research System (FARS) | The Financial Accounting Research Service (FARS) is an electronic tool for accounting research. It is made up of six major infobases: ORIGINAL PRONOUNCEMENTS, which contains all AICPA and FASB pronouncements in chronological order; CURRENT TEXT, which contains the General Standards, Industry Standards, and the Current Text sections and an appendix listing current AICPA Practice Bulletins, Statements of Position, and Audit and Accounting Guides; EITF ABSTRACTS, which includes every issue discussed by the Emerging Issues Task Force Implementation Guides; STAFF IMPLEMENTATION GUIDES, called the FASB-Q&A, contains staff Special Reports and other published implementation guidance on FAS 80, 86, 87, 88, 91, 96, 109, 113, 116, 117. It also contains illustrations of financial instrument disclosure requirements in FAS 105, 107, and 119; DERIVATIVE INSTRUMENTS AND HEDGING ACTIVITIES, which includes the full text of issues related to the implementation of Statement 133 that were discussed by the Derivatives Implementation Group and cleared by the FASB prior to September 25, 2000; Comprehensive Topical Index, which is a combined topical index for all of the databases.
