A variety of resources are produced by government agencies, political parties, individual candidates, and various interest groups providing their assessment of the 2008 election. This guide will provide links to presidential campaign resources and Indiana state and local campaign resources. Federal Election Commission-This agency regulates the conduct of presidential, U.S. Senate, and U.S. congressional campaigns. Contains significant campaign contribution information.
U.S. Election Assistance Commission (Commission established to meet the requirements of the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) passed in 2002 which called for developing voluntary voting system guidelines and setting up a national clearinghouse for election administration information.
Justice Dept. Civil Rights Division. Voting Section-Responsible for enforcing compliance with HAVA.
National Institute of Standards & Technology Election Assistance-(NIST is a Commerce Dept. agency conducting scientific and technological research. This website provides information on technical standards for voting systems under HAVA.
House Administration Committee HSSE DOC Y 4.H 81/3-This committee is responsible for overseeing and funding the Federal Election Commission, reviewing election laws, considering relevant proposed legislation, and deciding disputed House of Representatives elections.
