*Scholars of the presidency hold diverse views on presidential wartime powers. For alternative views on this subject, which are likely to stress more expansive views of presidential powers, see the work of Heritage Foundation analyst Todd Gaziano and University of California-Berkeley Law Professor John Yoo who is the author of The Powers of War and Peace: The Constitution and Foreign Affairs After 9/11 (University of Chicago Press, 2005) which I particularly recommend.
