New Import
Filter (12/12/03)
The
National Library of Medicine has updated their PubMed EndNote filter to match
the new programming changes recently made to the PubMed literature
database. Users of EndNote who regularly search and use the PubMed filter,
should upgrade to the new filter available through the EndNote web site
at: http://www.endnote.com/support/enfilters.asp
Connection
File
In July 2003, the
information provider for PubMed, the National Library of Medicine,
finalized a series of programming
changes to the search functions of PubMed. This interfered with PubMed
searches when using connection files for EndNote, ProCite and Reference
Manager (exporting-importing functions are not affected). ISI ResearchSoft,
the provider of EndNote, ProCite and Reference Manager, had to reprogram
the software for all three citation managers and/or provide other work
around measures. Depending upon which combination of citation manager
and computer operating system used, this could impact significantly upon patron’s
choice of citation management software and/or the need for a version
upgrade, if patrons need PubMed connection file search functions.
