Types of Articles

There are four types of article for this assignment. From other points of view the literature will be divided differently to organize the articles more efficiently for those needs.

  1. Reviews
    1. Longest type of article
    2. Most general
    3. Compilies many works to get an over all picture
    4. Least current
  2. Minireviews (Reviews)
    1. Medium length
    2. Overview of specific smaller topic
    3. Compiles works on the specific topic
    4. More current than reviews, but less than primary research
  3. Primary Research (Articles)
    1. Typically shortest
    2. Most specific
    3. Reports on the research on a particular aspect of a topic
    4. Potentially the most current
  4. Other (Editorials, Letters, Clinical Trials, etc.)
    1. Not relevant to this assignment
    2. Tend to be short, unless of the trial variety
