David S. Roswell

David S. Roswell (1896- ?) was Chief Economic Statistician of Case, Pomero & Company from 1917-1939, and later, private economic consultant and head of Roswell & Company.

The Company prepared individual studies on economic subjects, analyses of industries and corporations, and valuations of corporate securities. During the 1920’s it devoted particular attention to the railroad and shipping industries. Later the emphasis shifted to natural resources such as mining and petroleum. National and international economic studies also included background research of a political and social nature. The majority of the studies were prepared by David S. Roswell and Robert Teach Warren who had been an economist at the Federal Reserve Board from 1922-1926 and economist and vice President of Case, Pomeroy from 1928-1938.

When Case, Pomeroy Company was dissolved in 1939, David S. Roswell formed his own economic consulting business Roswell & Company, which continued in New York City until 1952 when Roswell retired.

In September 1962, the Roswell Library was purchased by the Krannert Endowment for Purdue University’s School of Industrial Management Library.
