BCRC is a compilation of several resources. Information on companies, and industries is available. Also included are sections on market share, associations,and statistics. An added feature allows for searching by brand name or product.

Business & Industry News

B&I is a broad-based business information database. It is international in scope and covers important facts and figures, and events occurring in all manufacturing and service industries. Information is selected from over 1,000 leading US and international trade journals, general business publications, newsletters, and national, and regional newspapers covering events and news from more than 190 countries around the world. Approximately 60% of the references include the full text of the articles.

The database contains full text format for over 740 titles including Business Week, American Banker, Forbes, Fortune, and The Economist.

American Association of Franchises & Dealers

The AAFD is a non-profit association that represents the rights of franchisees and independent operators. The AAFD site contains information on the association´s services, franchise-related events, A Frachisee Bill of Rights, and the full-text of the Fair Franchising Standards.

American Association of Home-Based Businesses

The AAHBB is a non-profit association that provides information and support for home-based business operations. A short list of resources for the home-based businessperson is available including information on insurance, marketing, and other opportunities.

American Express Small Business Exchange

American Express has put together a valuable site for the small businessperson. A selection of 18 full-text FAQ sheets on topics such as Day to Day Management, Law & Insurance, Startup Issues, and Taxes are freely available. Also available is a primer on writing a business plan and a business to business directory.

Better Business Bureau

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) collects and reports information to help prospective buyers make informed decisions in dealing with both businesses and charitable organizations. The BBB´s Core Services include, Business Reliability Reports, Dispute Resolution, Truth-in Advertising, Consumer and Business Education, and Charity Review.

National Technology Transfer Center

The National Technology Transfer Center (NTTC) was established in 1989 by congress to provide American companies and individuals with access to federal R&D to better enable them to compete in the international marketplace. The Center provides technology transfer support via several different areas: access to $70 billion worth of research and development, 100,000 research professionals at over 700 federal laboratories and universities; technology assessment services; product testing and prototyping, and professional training and development.

Small Business Administration

The Small Business Administration (SBA) site provides links to information about starting, financing, and expanding a business. Through a clickable map, it is also possible to link to all of the SBA local office sites around the country. A relatively new link at this site is ACE-Net, the Internet-based network sponsored by the SBA´s Office of Advocacy that gives new options to both small companies looking for investors and investors looking for promising opportunities.
