Current Index to Statistics

The online Current Index to Statistics (CIS) is a bibliographic index to publications in statistics and related fields.  It includes coverage, in most cases from 1974 to the present from *106 "core journals" (and pre-1974 coverage for a number of them), *selected articles since 1974 from about 900 additional journals, and *about 8000 books in statistics published since 1974.

Each year, it is updated with an additional year of coverage (currently, volumes published in 1997).

International Financial Statistics

Data gathered by the IMF on exchange rates, money and banking, interest rates, prices, production, international transactions, government finance and national accounts for most countries.

STAT-USA

STAT-USA is a primary point for access to government business-related statistics of all kinds including the National Trade Data Bank (NTDB). The section entitled "Frequently Requested Statistical Releases" includes all types of economic data from GDP figures and interest rates to housing starts and retail sales. A searchable version of Commerce Business Daily is available here as well as the Survey of Current Business since 1994. Most of the applications on this site require Adobe-Acrobat software which can be downloaded. To gain access to this database, an ID and password are required or use the Internet PCs in the Management & Economics Library. Consult the Reference Staff in your library to gain access.

TableBase

TableBase is an international database that specializes exclusively in tabular data dealing with companies, industries, products and demographics. Tables cover market share, rankings,forecasts, shipments, output, consumption, users, exports, imports, capacity and more. Tables are from a range of sources including trade and business publications, investment research, trade associations, statistical annuals, primary research, international organizations and government. Over 25,000 tables are added per year. For tables from the trade and business press and reports, full text is available along with tables, in most cases.

access Indiana

access Indiana contains statistical information on living, working and learning in Indiana. Also available is an abundance of general information on the state including contact information, forms and tourism.

Agricultural Statistics

This site provides an electronic version of the annual print publication Agricultural Statistics. It provides data on agricultural production, supplies, consumption, facilities, costs, and returns. The 1994 edition located at this site provides data going back to 1984.

Data on the Net

Search or browse a listing of 851 Internet sites of numeric Social Science statistical data, data catalogs, data libraries, social science gateways, addresses and more.

FAOSTAT

FAOSTAT is the statistics database of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. It is an on-line and multilingual (English, French, & Spanish) database currently containing over 1 million time-series records covering international statistics in the following areas: production, trade, food balance sheets, food aid shipments, land use and irrigation, forest products, fishery products, and population.

FedStats

FedStats is the full range of official statistical information available to the public from the Federal Government. Track economic and population trends, health care costs, aviation safety, foreign trade, energy use, farm production, and more. Access official statistics collected and published by more than 70 Federal agencies.

Living Standards Measurement Study - World Bank Group

The main objective of LSMS surveys is to collect household data that can be used to assess household welfare, to understand household behavior, and to evaluate the effect of various government policies on the living conditions of the population. Accordingly, LSMS surveys collect data on many dimensions of household well-being, including consumption, income, savings, employment, health, education, fertility, nutrition, housing and migration.

Penn World Tables(Wharton Research Data Service)

The Penn World Tables provides national income accounts-type of variables converted to international prices. Must be in M & E Library or have username and password. For more information contact Hal Kirkwood.

Lexix Nexis Statistical

Statistical Universe is more that just the American Statistics Index (ASI), the Statistical Reference Index (SRI) and the Index to International Statistics (IIS) on the Web. Statistical Universe provides full bibliographic control of statistical data produced by the U.S. government, important international intergovernmental organizations, knowledgeable professional and trade organizations, business organizations, commercial publishers, independent research organizations, state government agencies and universities.

Statistics Canada

Statistics Canada is the country's national statistical agency, with programs organized into three broad subject matter areas: demographic and social, socio-economic and economic.

U.S. Census of Agriculture

Oregon State University provides access to the U.S. Census of Agriculture from 1992,1997 and 2002. This site is searchable by county, state, or ZIP Code.

USDA Economics & Statistics System

The Mann Library at Cornell University serves as the official site for the USDA Economics and Statistics System. Currently there are nearly 300 reports and datasets from USDA's three economics agencies: the Economic Research Service (ERS), the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), and the World Agricultural Outlook Board (WAOB). Many files are updated daily. The datasets are often in tabular format and will be displayed as Excel or Lotus 123 spreadsheets if your search software is set to recognize those file types. 

World Factbook

A publication of the US Central Intelligence Agency that contains statistical and textual information on the countries of the world.  Information on economic, population, and geographic topics can be found within this resource.
