The FRED system provides historical U.S. economic and financial data in 12 broad categories: business/fiscal data, daily/weekly U.S. financial data, exchange rate/balance of payments data, GDP, monthly commercial banking data, monthly CPI, monthly employment and population data, monthly interest rates, monthly monetary data, monthly PPI, monthly reserves data and regional data (for Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee). The site is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

STAT-USA is a primary point for access to government business-related statistics of all kinds, including the National Trade Data Bank (NTDB). The section entitled "Frequently Requested Statistical Releases" includes all types of economic data from GDP figures and interest rates to housing starts and retail sales.
