Undergraduate Journals - Journal of Purdue Undergraduate Research (JPUR)

JPUR coverWith support from the Office of the Provost, Purdue University Press has organized the creation of a Journal of Purdue Undergraduate Research (JPUR) to showcase the richness of undergraduate research opportunities available at the university. Collaborating with Marketing and Media and the Online Writing Lab, the Press and Libraries have produced a full color print and online edition.
 

 

Graduate Journals - Journal of Contemporary Anthropology (JCA)

JCAThe Department of Anthropology sought to provide an outlet for graduate student scholarship. Purdue Libraries developed a journal hosting and manuscript management solution and trained a graduate student editor. Purdue University Press is available to provide copyediting and typesetting solutions when needed.

 

Technical Reports - The Joint Transportation Research Program (JTRP)

JTRP iconA collaboration of the Department of Civil Engineering and the Indiana Department of Transportation sought to transition its technical report series, published since 1937, to digital form, taking full advantage of the capacity of the internet to connect scholarly information. In a joint venture, Purdue Libraries digitized 1200 print reports, adding digital object identifiers (DOIs) and Purdue University Press jointly funded a Production Editor position to manage the new report workflow.

 

Faculty Journals - Journal of Pre-College Engineering Education Research (J-PEER)

JPEER IconOn behalf of the Institute for P-12 Engineering Research and Learning (INSPIRE), Purdue University Press has launched a major electronic, Open Access journal, hosted by Purdue Libraries. Articles are copyedited and produced in XML format by Purdue University Press, with full reference-linking functionality. Purdue Libraries provides a manuscript management system and online publishing platform, through which all materials are indexed by Google Scholar.

 

New Model Publications - Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRICentral)

HABRIThe Center for the Study of the Human-Animal Bond, a part of Purdue Veterinary Medicine, sought to create a bibliographic resource for the emerging, interdisciplinary study of the health benefits of human-animal interaction, an area increasingly of interest to health professionals. Purdue University Press participated in a grant-writing process that resulted in a three year funding commitment from the HABRI Foundation, and the creation of a collaboration hub for the field built around high standards of information management, preservation, and dissemination.
