Humanities, Social Science, and Education Library (HSSE) »

There are several study rooms in the HSSE library in Stewart Center. These rooms are for groups, but an individual is welcome unless requested by a group. No reservations are needed for these rooms. Map of open Study Room Locations

Collaborative Study Center (HSSE 142) Capacity: 28

Located on the first floor of the Humanities, Social Science, and Education Library, the Collaborative Study Center is a medium study space intended for cooperative study and instruction. The CSC includes 8 computer terminals and 10 desks, for a total of 28 seats. A projector and instructor station are also available.

Hicks Undergraduate Library »

  • There are several study rooms in the Hicks Undergraduate Library on the ground floor. These rooms are on a first come, first served basis.
  • Space Management & Academic Scheduling lets students use university classrooms to practice their presentations or work on class projects if a room is not in use. Check with SMAS on availability by going to Engineering Administration (ENAD), room 402 or call 494-3900.
  • For reserving a room in Stewart Center or the Union, the student will need to call 49-48870 to see if one is eligible for this service. Usually the service is for student organizations.

Located on the lower level of the Hicks Undergraduate Library, the Learning Studio is a large collaborative classroom intended for IMPACT classes and other innovative, interactive learning sessions. The room contains an instructor station, projector, 2 Smart Boards, and 13 interactive white board desks. An instructor microphone and whiteboard markers can be checked out from the Hicks iDesk. This room is available for general reservations only after 6:00pm.

B853 is located in the basement of Hicks Undergraduate Library along with B848. This room boasts 3 projectors, one instructor station with document camera, and several whiteboards. The seating is optimized for collaborative team work. An instructor microphone and whiteboard markers can be checked out from the Hicks iDesk. This room is available for general reservations only after 6:00pm.

Located on the ground floor of the Hicks Undergraduate Library, G980D is one of the newest additions to the library’s IMPACT classrooms. The room contains an instructor station with document camera, 4 sets of large, flat screen monitors, several whiteboards, and an ITaP print station. An instructor microphone and whiteboard markers can be checked out from the Hicks iDesk. This room is available for general reservations only after 6:00pm. This room remains open as part of Hicks' 24 hour study space.

This medium computer lab found on the main floor of the Hicks Undergraduate Library is well-suited for instructional sessions. The iLab contains 24 computer terminals, an instructor station, projection equipment, and whiteboards. Additional seating is available. Whiteboard markers can be checked out from the Hicks iDesk.

This small room in the Hicks Undergraduate Library was designed as a viewing space for media items. It contains a television, a VHS player, a DVD player, a small table and approximately 5 chairs. Remotes for room equipment can be checked out from the Hicks iDesk.

The Corporate Study room is composed of two conjoined rooms within the Parrish Library and is suited for receptions, meetings, and conferences. KRAN 258 features an open layout with three small tables, several study carrels, and casual seating throughout the space. KRAN 260 resembles a more traditional meeting space with two large conference tables each seating 10. Counters are available for catering. When not reserved, the Corporate Study Room acts as a quiet study space for students.

The Parrish Library’s Financial Conference Room is a medium conference room designed as a high tech meeting space. It seats 11 at the conference table and 10 additional seats are available in the room. The room features a television, and webcam as well as laptop and polycom phone compatibility. When making your reservation, alert the Parrish iDesk to any technology needs.

This medium conference room located in the Parrish Library is well-suited for meetings. It contains a conference table surrounded by 12 chairs with 12 additional chairs available. The room also features an instructor station, large screen monitor, and small kitchenette with a fridge and countertop. This room is also set up for BoilerCast audio capture.

Learn Lab (Kran 250) Capacity: 40

Learn Lab

The Parrish Library houses the Learn Lab, a medium computer lab designed for innovative multimedia instruction. The Lab contains 40 computer terminals, one instructor station, 3 smart boards, and several collaborative whiteboard huddle board stations. When not reserved, the space becomes an open lab for students. This room is also set up for BoilerCast audio capture.
