1930 David Ross gave large tract of land for airport (first university-owned airport in the nation).
1934 First hanger completed.
1935 Wiley Post landed in his "Winnie Mae" plane.
1937 Amelia Earhart took off for her first world flight attempt.
1939 Civilian airplane pilots training initiated.
Students taking advanced CAA flight instuction at Purdue Airport. (April 9, 1940).
1961 Midwest Program for Airborne Television Instruction (MPATI) began.
1987 Air Force One brought President Ronald Reagan to Purdue.
1989 Airport selected as mandatory "flyby" in Air Race Classic.
