While taking off from Luke Field (Hawaii) the left tire blew out, and reducing the power on the opposite engine caused the airplane to "ground-loop". The plane was disassembled and shipped to Burbank, California for repairs. The electra was ready on May 19,1937, the work was completed by a Lockheed crew. On May 21,1937, she flew the plane from Burbank to Oakland.
