Natal

Natal, Brazil

June 7, 1937

The aviators left San Juan at 4:50 a.m. and arrived at Natal at 6:55 a.m. The weather was unsettled all the way – a morning of vagrant clouds and rainsqualls chased each other across the sky. Parnamirio Airport at Natal was large. It consisted of long marked runways, a large hangar and living quarters. They left Natal early; it was 3:l5 a.m. when they took off. Once off the ground the Electra was submerged in a truly pitch dark. The route from San Juan to Natal, Brazil used Pan American radio and landing facilities.
