OLD OAKEN BUCKET

ABOUT US

The Purdue University Archives and Special Collections and the Indiana University Office of Archives and Records Management jointly sponsored the development of the Old Oaken Bucket football trophy website. The Bucket is now entering its 83rd year and is the second oldest trophy in college football, only surpassed by the Minnesota-Michigan Little Brown Jug trophy.

Philip Bantin, Director of Indiana University’s Office of Archives and Records Management, and Sammie Morris, Head of Purdue University’s Archives and Special Collections, collaborated to develop the text for the site. Carl Snow, Purdue University Digital Initiatives Librarian, Gymeung Bang, and Peter Standard, Purdue Digital Initiatives assistants, designed the site. Gymeung conceived the graphic design and Peter programmed the web site. All images used on the site are courtesy of the archives of Purdue University or Indiana University.

The entire team is excited about this collaborative project and hopes that you find it of interest.
