Types of materials being sought for the Psychoactive Substances Research Collection include the papers and writings of scientists, doctors, researchers, and other scholars who have been recognized on a national and international level for their contributions to knowledge in this area. In particular, this collection will consist mainly of primary source materials such as manuscripts; diaries; research notes and data; correspondence; photographs; awards and certificates; oral histories, and other materials of enduring value. Published materials such as journal articles and books also will be collected if they relate to the history of psychoactive substances and their use by the scientific and research communities. Materials relating primarily to the counterculture drug movement of the 1960s and 1970s will not be sought.
