Robert Forte
Robert Forte, scholar of the history and psychology of the ancient and modern uses of psychedelic drugs, studied the history of religion with Mircea Eliade at the University of Chicago, and the psychedelic experience with Stanislav Grof at the Esalen Institute. He has worked for two decades to help western society understand and benefit from the fruits of psychedelic mysticism. A former lecturer on psychology and religion at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and former director of the Albert Hofmann Foundation, he is the editor of
Entheogens and the Future of Religion
(1997, 2000),
