Policies & Guidelines

Circulation Policies

UGRL abides by the Circulation Policies of the Purdue University Libraries. Loan periods and billing policies, however, vary among the Libraries.

Items can be checked out from the Undergraduate Library with a Purdue ID or a visitor's card. The loan period for books is three weeks and for media one week. Items can be renewed by calling 494-0369 or by accessing Your Library Account. You will be asked for your Purdue ID number.

Items housed in the Course Reserves collection have unique restrictions.

Cell Phones

Cell phones must be on silent mode when you are in the library.

Food and Beverages

You are welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages in spill-proof containers into UGRL. Containers must be hard-sided, covered and spill-proof - travel mugs with lids or bottles with screw-on or pop-up tops are acceptable. Please no aluminum cans, paper or styrofoam cups (including those with plastic lids), and any container without a lid. Food is not allowed in UGRL.

Eating and drinking is permitted in the 24-hour Study Lounge, located across the hall from the Library entry. Vending machines offering a variety of snacks, small meals and beverages along with a microwave are available. Feel free to have food delivered to the 24-hour Study Lounge.
