  1. Pick a topic “related to the Veterinary Technologist (VTG) student’s focus”

  2. Perform a literature search to locate articles dealing with your chosen topic–

    1. Check out the Libraries’ CORE tutorial @ http://gemini.lib.purdue.edu/core/default.cfm for help in topic exploration and types of information and searching

    2. Click on the Veterinary Medical Library’s tutorial on Super Searching
http://www.lib.purdue.edu/vetmed/inst/supersearcher/index.html for a refresher on effective catalog and database searching.

  3. Find & follow “Instructions for Authors” or “Author Guidelines” for your selected journal -
[Tips – Some journals contain printed instructions; some do not. For those who don’t, search the title or the publisher’s website to look for a link to this information.]

  4. Write a literature review article to submit for publication –
[Suggestion – click on Purdue’s Online Writing Lab @ http://owl.english.purdue.edu/ for assistance in expressing your ideas.
Always document citations to articles you use in your paper to give credit to authors when quoting their words or paraphrasing their ideas.]

  5. Present part of paper in a class seminar in CE style –
[Did you know about the Libraries’ Digital Collaboratory @ http://dlc.purdue.edu/ ? Here you can prepare a multi-media presentation for your class seminar!]
