“WWYD If You Were Dean For a Day?” Purdue Libraries Student Video Contest 2022

Watch. Duet. Win.

What would YOU do if you were Dean of Libraries for a day? Share your idea on TikTok or Instagram and you could win up to $1000 courtesy of Libraries and our friends at Purdue Federal Credit Union! All you need to do is:

  1. Be a current undergraduate student at Purdue University—West Lafayette through the Spring 2022 semester.
  2. Be original. No music or other audio that is copyrighted.
  3. Follow Libraries on TikTok: @purduelibtok and/or Instagram: @purdueulibraries
  4. Find the “WWYD If You Were Dean?” video
  5. Film a duet or original video answering the question, “What would you do if you were Dean of Purdue Libraries for a day?”
  6. Post and tag your video on TikTok: @purduelibtok, #purduelibraries, #purduelibcontest OR Instagram: @purdueulibraries, #purduelibraries, #purduelibcontest
  7. Enter by 5/5/2022. Winners will be contacted via DM through the platform by which they entered.
  8. Videos will be judged on content and creativity. They may be serious, funny, absurd, or sincere. Multiple entries are permitted, but each individual can only win once.
  9. The monetary award (first prize = $1,000; second prize = $750; and third prize = $500) will be processed through financial aid, and pending no outstanding student account balances, will then be distributed to the winners. Entrants who submit as a group will have the prize money distributed equally among the student participants. The winning videos will be used by Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies in marketing and promotional materials.

Five Purdue University undergraduate students were selected as the winners of the 2019 Why I Love Purdue Libraries Video Contest. Contest judges included Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies and Purdue Federal Credit Union regular and student staff members. Purdue Federal Credit Union (PFCU) sponsors the contest.

On April 25, 2019, Account Vice President at PFCU Jeff Love (second from left) met with the student winners in the PFCU branch in the Purdue Memorial Union to congratulate them. The winners of the Fall 2017 Why I Love Purdue Libraries’ WALC Video Contest joined Dean of Libraries Jim Mullins and Purdue Federal Credit Union (PFCU) Vice President Jeff Love for a special presentation of their awards in the Wilmeth Active Learning Center, Library of Engineering and Science.
