The Hicks Undergraduate Library was name in honor of John W. Hicks, a Purdue graduate and president of the University from 1982-1983. You can learn more about him here: http://www.lib.purdue.edu/libraries/ugrl/namesake

In 2002, Purdue Libraries and Information Technology at Purdue combined resources to provide various audio/visual equipment for loan to students, faculty and staff of the West Lafayette campus. Since it opened in 1982, the goal of the Hicks Undergraduate Library has been to create an active learning environment for the Purdue community. Our three interactive classrooms and computer lab support these efforts. We also offer audio/visual equipment for loan.
