Core Curriculum & Information Literacy

The Libraries actively support Purdue's outcomes-based core curriculum. Library science faculty have worked closely with instructors to redesign courses meeting the core foundational information literacy outcome through the IMPACT program, as well as developing a course to meet departmental and core curriculum needs.

The Libraries continue to offer support for core courses meeting the foundational information literacy outcome. Library science faculty can work in a number of ways:

  • Consult on the design or redesign of a course to align with the outcome
  • Team teach or guest lecture
  • Consult on the development of specific assignments or assessment instruments
  • Provide tutorials or Library Guides

To work with a faculty member in the Libraries, contact the Libraries' liaison to your Department, or Clarence Maybee, Information Literacy Specialist for the Purdue University Libraries.
