Learning and Information Literacy

Student-centered learning requires that learners know how to find, evaluate, interpret, and apply information to solve problems and construct new meanings.

To support learners in today’s information-rich environment, the Purdue Libraries are committed to enhancing student information literacy by advancing educational practice and research.
Faculty in the Libraries at Purdue work with instructors to create informed learners through course redesign.
The Libraries’ information literacy program is informed by the Library Science faculty’s research into how information is used to learn.
